Meet the contractors: Shepley Engineers

In this free one-hour online talk, John Barnett-Pattison of Cumbria and Yorkshire-based Shepley Engineers returns to present live the talk he gave in June 2021 about the company's work to conserve parts of the Elizabeth Tower.

John will explain what techniques and processes Shepley have been using to restore the roof, the Ayrton Light. and the clock's dials and hands and discuss both the challenges and rewards of working on such a historic building.

As a proud Cumbrian company that has been working in the area since 1948, alongside its workshop in Sheffield, John will talk about how Shepley started out in this specialist industry and what opportunities there are for young people today to get involved in the sector.

After the 45-minute presentation, 15 minutes will be available for you to ask questions.
